1) Who can volunteer?
– Anyone 16 or older. If under 16, must be accompanied by parent or responsible adult at all times while volunteering. No prior experience is needed.
2) Can my prior experience be used?
-Absolutely. Each volunteer applicant is handled individually by our team and placed according to their desires and the needs of the event.
3) Is there a most important role?
-Every role is important and requires specific personality traits and preferences to fill each perfectly.
4) Can a volunteer change teams or roles after initially selecting one?
-Yes. Just contact your team leader with your request.
5) Are there opportunities for groups to volunteer?
-Absolutely! Volunteering as a group is a fun and exciting way to experience the event. There are no specific roles that require groups but we will work to keep you together as much as possible.
6) How does a volunteer schedule hours?
-Through this site. Sign up for a team, then the events and venues where you are available. Signing up with a friend makes it more fun.
7) Are background checks and training required for volunteers?
-Certain positions may require additional screening and training. There will be information posted with a role if this is necessary. Also, an event staff member will contact you if further actions are required to volunteer for a specific role.
8) Is there a dress code?
-Perhaps. If required, the dress code will be shared with you via email.
9) Will volunteer hours be credited?
-Yes. We are currently adding a contact form to request the hours that you volunteered. In the future we will provide an automated system for downloading your hours.
10) Are there any incentives for volunteers?
-Most event organizers enjoy giving their volunteers extra perks for their time and effort. This can be free event viewing (during non-volunteer hours), t-shirts or other swag. Each event organizer has unique incentives.
11) Will transportation be provided for volunteers traveling from one venue to another.
-Unfortunately, this is not usually the norm. Traveling from venue to venue will be the responsibility of the volunteer. There may be times when multiple volunteers are able to travel together.
